Perrysburg4Transit is coordinating an advocacy campaign in support of the levy renewal. The campaign would like to invite the community to a campaign kickoff event at O-Deer Diner (416 Louisiana Ave.) on Tuesday, March 6 at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Right now, the campaign's primary need is donations. Perrysburg4Transit is planning an advocacy campaign that includes door-to-door and direct mail to active voters, testimonials and yard signs.
“We are asking supporters to please consider helping with this important campaign by making a financial donation,” shared Eric Benington, Treasurer. “The direct voter contact is entirely managed and funded by volunteers, so the more folks who join in early to donate, the better the position we’ll be in to maintain this critical service in our community.”
Donations may be made through www.perrysburg4transit.com via PayPal or by mailing checks payable to “Perrysburg 4 Transit” to Perrysburg4Transit, Eric Benington—Treasurer, 412 Rutledge Court, Perrysburg OH 43551.
Without this levy’s renewal, there will be no public transportation in Perrysburg for seniors or individuals living with disabilities. The 5-year, 0.8 mill levy will continue to cost the owner of a $200,000 home about $4 per month. The levy helps maintain community stability by enabling residents to stay in their homes longer and age with independence and dignity.
